Year Two Begins for Class of 2016!

The Barefoot Doctor students of the Class of 2016 have arrived safely in Chiang Mai, Thailand to begin their second year of training!  They arrived last Saturday around 2:30 pm and got settled in at the Kalnin Learning Center in Doi Saket.
Their journeys to Thailand remind us of the strong commitment they have made to serve Christ.  Ninsungbra, one of our students, told Jung she left her family and village early in November in order to avoid the snow!  They will be in class for about two months, but in some cases they will be gone from home for four to five months!  If you look at the following picture you may notice that two of the twenty-one students in the Class of 2016 are missing.  Jung will share later why they are not here.
The 2015 Barefoot Doctors School started officially today, January 12th.  Bob Johnson and Jim Winter will be teaching Bible classes all week, then on January 19th six weeks of medical training will begin.  The FLC staff and teaching staff are fired up to serve these men and women again.

Bob Johnson is the pastor of Grace Point church in San Diego, California where Rick and Alice Astone are members.  This is his first time to teach at the Barefoot Doctors School, and he is very excited to teach and get to know our students.

Jim Winter is a pastor from London, England who has taught two previous times in Chiang Mai.  He still preaches at a church south of London when he's home, but he also represents a global mission for which he has recently traveled to Turkey and Burma.  He and Simon Percy will be leading a pastor’s conference in western Thailand the week following his Bible teaching at the Barefoot Doctors School.

We are blessed to have these excellent preachers of the Word teaching our students this week!  They will be sharing reports throughout the week, so please start checking the blog on a daily basis to receive these updates.

Please keep the students, teaching staff and FLC staff in your prayers.

We need your prayer support and thank you for praying and supporting this ministry.
