Two Powerful Books!

One of the neatest things said so far in our Barefoot Doctors School was when our co-deans, Rick Astone and Dr. Bjorn Nilson, held up two books for the students on two different occasions. The first book was the Bible, the Word of God. The second book was Where There is No Doctor, the basic manual our Barefoot Doctor students are learning to use.
Both Rick and Bjorn told the students on separate occasions, "Here is one powerful book. Here is another powerful book. As a Barefoot Doctor, you will be living and serving according to these two books."
If you haven't noticed in any of our previous pictures, at the front of the classroom in the Jones Building is a sign that quotes Luke 9:6. Luke tells us that Jesus sent out His twelve disciples, and they went about Preaching the Gospel and Healing People everywhere.

This is a key verse and motto for our Barefoot Doctors in Burma!
