Day Two of CHE Training

David, Joanna, and the students have now completed their second day of CHE Training.  It sounds like it was a fun day. Here is David's summary:

Today's training focus was on teaching tools the Barefoot Doctors could use to supplement the prevention lessons they will give in their communities. Specifically, the tools covered were songs, stories, puppets and games.  Examples of each tool were given after which they were divided into teams to create their own examples and present them to the class.
The whole day was filled with both creativity and laughter as they used the knowledge they had gained thus far and incorporated it into the tools they were taught. As their awareness expanded on how to use these teaching tools, they were also given ample time to practice each of the tools.  This gave them increased familiarity with them, thus making it easier to implement them among the people in Burma they minister to.
A portion of time today was spent on learning more facilitation skills such as asking 'open-ended' questions, creating a safe environment to foster maximum participation, and allowing for ample time for them to answer their participants’ questions. - David Crist

Several people are traveling to Thailand sometime this week, including Dr. Bjorn Nilson and Rick Astone. The medical professionals who are coming to teach are listed in the chart below which gives you a typical teaching schedule for a week.  Please pray for their safety in travel.
